You’ll find the YMCA National Centre, Lakeside hidden within 100 acres of private woodland along the south western shores of Lake Windermere.
As a centre of excellence in outdoor learning we’ve been here for more than 60 years and in that time, we’ve helped more than a million young people to build a better future.
Today, we’re one of the largest outdoor activity centres in Europe, delivering top quality outdoor learning from , in our opinion, the best location you could ask for.
Our activities
Making the most of the natural resources on our doorstep we offer nearly 50 land and water-based activities. Our adventures range from kayaking to fell walking, and archery to caving, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our facilities
You will be based in our Stoller Campus, opened in 2020 after a £7million revamp. It has over 280 beds in 54 en-suite bedrooms. There are also drying rooms, group or breakout rooms. With panoramic views of Lake Windermere, the dining room is the heart of the building and catering for a range of dietary requirements.
Who we work with
We work with schools, colleges, youth and corporate groups from all over Europe. We also run day camps during the holidays.
