Great Fire of London – Field Trip in the City (KS1/KS2)
In this session you and your students will travel back to 1666 to find out what life was like for Londoners before, during and after the Great Fire of London. You and your group will be introduced to Samuel Pepys and Sir Christopher Wren in the heart of the City, before heading into Guildhall Art Gallery to map out the spread of the fire, meet a Fire Judge and design a monument to commemorate the City that rose from the ashes. You have the choice to add on a facilitated or self-led trip to The Monument which is a short walk away. There you can visit Pudding Lane, climb 311 steps to the top of The Monument and observe the panoramic views of London.
