Big Wheel Theatre Company – Climate Change and Sustainability

Big Wheel is a theatre in education company that uses theatre and drama to train, teach and inspire. For many years we have worked with Environmental Teams, School Travel Planners and Road Safety Officers across the UK to deliver high energy, creative, impactful and educational shows in their local primary schools.  

The Pollution Solution

This popular workshop addresses the issues of climate change and air pollution:  two topics that continue to dominate the news and raise concerns for our planet and our health.  The workshop successfully highlights these two issues in a fun and exciting way, whilst still delivering important information.

Particularly relevant to schools where there are high Nitrogen Dioxide and Particulate levels, this workshop encourages students not only to travel to school in a safe and sustainable way whilst thinking about how their life choices affect the environment, but also to raise awareness of existing levels of air pollution, and  suggests ways they can help reduce it by planting trees, green walls, hedges and shrubs.

We present this at KS1 KS2 and KS3 levels adapting it according to the needs of the group. If there are particular issues you would like us to cover let's have a chat about that. 

We can also provide actors to attend events like Clean Air day, fetes and other special days.

Road Safety, Climate Change and Responsible Travel

A bit more about Big Wheel

We work in schools, museums and libraries, healthcare and business. For schools we have a repertoire of workshop performances covering English and French language learning, English literature, Sustainability and Climate Change. We work at all levels and can tailor our workshops to suit the needs of the school. 

In other settings our work is more bespoke and we have created a range of programmes including historical storytelling in museums, service improvement in healthcare and presentation skills in business. We specialise in working closely with our clients to create an impactful and entertaining learning experience – and we have a lot of fun along the way.
