More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

After viewing a stunning 360° film exploring the inner workings of the global climate with rich visualisations based on satellite data and supercomputer simulations; we engage in group discussion to gain a deeper understanding of the climate emergency.

In the 24min immersive film Dynamic Earth, we follow the path of energy from the Sun into the global systems that shape our climate: the atmosphere, the oceans and the biosphere. We ride along swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes.

We also measure CO₂ levels inside the dome and compare them to global levels today.

Pupils get to address questions such as the following:
♻️ Animals, volcanoes, natural fires, and hydrothermal vents have always produced significant amounts of carbon dioxide (CO₂) - so why are we concerned about CO₂ levels today?

♻️ The Earth has experienced colder - and hotter - epochs in the past. Are increasing global temperatures not simply due to natural cycles?

Students and teachers will be left with vivid and lasting memories to motivate classroom learning about the critical challenge of climate change. An appropriate alternative (or additional) 360° film for this experience is Force 5 (20min), vividly describing extreme weather.
