More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

Bring history to life in our 360° domes! Unique historical experiences consisting of presenter-led, interactive components followed by a 360° film. The horrors of both WWI and WWII are implied but never shown, making these fulldome shows suitable for upper KS2 and older.

The performances include a presenter-led trip back in time with the planetarium to see what was in the night sky during a particular event of your choosing (eg. The Battle of the Somme or The Blitz); adding an extra dimension of realism and understanding to your pupils' appreciation of these events.

The Trench
(1914-1918)
Transport your pupils back 100 years with this 360° re-enactment of life in the notorious WWI trenches. A British army private and an officer describe their respective experiences in the trenches, as well as the course and outcome of WWI. Music by Wagner, Ravel and Holst adds to the atmosphere of the drama.

World 2 War
(1939-1945)
Place your students right at the centre of one of the most momentous periods of history with this unforgettable digital dome overview of World War II. A historically accurate immersive film combining cinematically re-created political events & battle scenes with original film and photographic references.

Testimonials

"The dome really brought the topic of WWII to life. We learned about the planets visible in the sky above Newport on the nights of the bombings. This was new information we've never taught before as part of our topic. The children were fully engaged and excited. Mario was very knowledgable and calming throughout what can be a sensitive topic. Highly recommended!"
St Julian's Primary, Newport, Wales

"Thank you for such a wonderful experience! It was the highlight of the children's WW2 Day. The children found the video to be extremely informative. They described it as a 3D movie experience and they loved the layout of the dome. The hour went by so quickly, and we would all love to do it again!"
